I am the father of twin daughters and I tried my hardest to introduce them to gun oil and engine oil, well that failed and still to this day I try to get them interested, but to no avail. Some women/ girls will not with any amount of coercion or reverse psychology does not work. Good to hear that you are one who did not need to be cajoled into enjoying a favorite pastime, and lifestyle.

As the father of five girls all I can say is a big thumbs up. I have always thought being able to adequatly handle a firearm is a great moral booster to a girl or woman, regardless of whether the carry, compete or hunt. Thank you for your site and blazzing a path for others.

I love your blog here! I have been in the US Navy for 21 years, but only in the last five have I really found an interest in shooting. It is the same reason I started my blog – because I have so much to learn, but nothing gets me as excited as a day at the range. I really love when I get to shoot a weapon I have never tried before. I think I might be ready to dip my toe in the pool of competitive shooting, but it is intimidating. No matter, I want to do it because it would be more fun than just shooting and having the opportunity to be around so many other dedicated people with the same passion as me can only help me increase my skills over time.

Thanks for the comment Tamara! Shooting is something that I have always enjoyed but never really got into the competition side until recently. I love it! I’ll be sure to check out your website (cute name by the way). Good luck with everything!

    Hi,

On your blog about shooting the G34 low and left….well, on my G17 and G34, I have same sights, Warren Tactical Glock Sevigny Competition Sight Set with .215 Tall and what I did, was paint the serrated lines on the front sight LIME GREEN, all the lines that match up to the lower rear sight.

So, all I need to do, is center the front sight and make sure the front sight is on the last LIME GREEN painted serrated line within the rear sight.

    Works perfect for me.

I got the idea from Brian Enos’s forum…the best shooter forum on the net.

    http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=124689&st=25&p=1513036&#entry1513036

    That’s a G34 in the picture.

You can get the paint at Hobby Lobby, a paint pen Lime Green for like $3.00 or less in the paint isle.

    Hope it helps.

    Great..

This is the one I used:

    http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/paint-marker-564708/

    It’s a real fine/thin marker.

Make sure you don’t color ALL the lines, only down to where your a point of impact.
    I think it’ll be 5 lines, but I can’t remember.

What I did was use a magnifying glass on the picture in that photo on the forum I linked to above.

    It has helped me tremendously.

    Good luck with your training!
